When does an ECU need reprogramming?
When the manufacturer publishes an update fixing a known fault, when a module is replaced, or when a new component must be registered to the vehicle. It is not a "more power" service: it is maintenance of the car’s software.
About the power remaps (stage 1) everyone asks about: we assess them case by case, and always with honesty about the consequences — emissions, warranty, insurance and the ITV. What we never do is disable anti-pollution systems via software; besides being illegal, it usually ends in bigger failures. Where software genuinely saves the customer money is in well-adapted second-hand modules and official updates that fix production defects: ask before replacing an expensive part, because sometimes the fault is the software version, not the component.

Can you fit an ECU from a scrapyard?

Do you make new keys?

Does reprogramming affect the warranty?
