When should tyres be replaced?

Legally at 1.6 mm of tread, but for safety we recommend not going below 3 mm — and replacing them by age from 5–6 years even with tread left. Rubber ages and loses wet grip long before it wears out.

What wears tyres out in Barcelona is not mileage: it is kerbs while parking and potholes, which knock the steering out of alignment. A misaligned car eats a tyre shoulder in a few thousand kilometres and uses more fuel too. After any hard wheel impact, get the alignment checked. And if you feel vibration in the wheel between 100 and 120 km/h, what you need is balancing, not necessarily new rubber.

Alignment vs. balancing: which does your car need?

Quick answer: off-centre wheel or uneven wear = alignment; vibration at constant speed = balancing. They are different things and often confused.

Frequently asked questions

Which tyre brands do you work with?

Leading brands and quality mid-range options depending on your budget and use. We propose options with their real differences in grip and lifespan, and you decide.

Can I change just one tyre?

The correct practice is changing in axle pairs to keep balanced grip. Only one is changed if the other is practically new.

Do you repair punctures?

Yes, when the damage is in the tread area and within safe repair limits. Sidewall damage means replacement.

How often should I check pressures?

Once a month and before long trips, with cold tyres. The correct pressure is on the driver’s door frame.
