Why does my car battery keep going flat?
The three most common causes: an ageing battery, an alternator not charging properly, and parasitic drains (some device staying awake with the car locked). Each is identified with a different measurement, and none is solved by changing parts at random.
The Monday morning classic: car will not start after the weekend. The temptation is a new battery, and sometimes that is right; but if the culprit is a parasitic drain — an ECU that never sleeps, a badly fitted accessory — the new battery will wake up just as dead in two weeks. Our routine: battery test, alternator load test and, if both pass, drain hunting fuse by fuse. In start-stop cars the battery must also be the right type (EFB/AGM) and be registered in the ECU, or the charging management will punish it from day one.

How long does a battery last?
4 to 6 years on average; less with lots of short trips or intense summers like Barcelona’s. The test tells its real condition in minutes.
My car has start-stop — will any battery do?
No: it needs an EFB or AGM battery depending on the system, and many models require registering it in the ECU for the charging management to work properly.
Do you fix window regulators and locks?
Yes: electric door mechanisms, window regulators, central locking and their wiring.
Do you install accessories?
